Coldplay never intended to
become England's favorite rock & roll sons when their signature rock
melodies ruled the charts throughout 2000. Coldplay Short Biography
Formed while at University College London, Coldplay have emerged in recent
years as the band at the forefront of the UK's new rock scene.
The Brit rock quartet -- composed of Chris Martin (vocals/piano), Jon
Buckland (guitar), Will Champion (drums), and Guy Berryman (bass) --
yearned to mess around a bit, plucking their own acoustics for fun while
attending the University College of London. If you like your rock
music tuneful and passionate, then look no further. The British
rockers had announced that the song would be made available free on their
official website from 12.
A Rush of Blood to the Head is a soulful, exhilarating journey,
moving from the cathartic rock of "Politik" to the hushed tones of "Green
Eyes" without once breaking its mesmerizing spell. Second, and more
importantly, is that Radiohead has proven in the past that they can
absolutely, without a doubt, rock your face
off.
Because something begins to dawn on you as you listen to A Rush of Blood
to the Head: Coldplay have never written a real, live ROCK song.
Bands write great ballads as the occasional step down from their hard
rocking ways, but Coldplay have nothing to step down from. But fans
of bigger, louder rock will need more than what Coldplay is willing to
give right now.

Martin

Martin, the eldest of five, began playing the piano as a young
child. Martin frequently battled nasty colds and voice exhaustion,
which led Coldplay to cancel a series of American dates and scrap a
European tour. Martin specifically earned a higher notch on the
celebrity scale by marrying actress Gwyneth Paltrow in December
2003.
Martin's idea of promoting the thing seems to involve staging angry
walk-outs with a frequency that would have impressed a mid-70s shop
steward. Martin told how he was picked on at the school for being a
bit of a swot because he preferred to play the piano instead of
sports.
Martin was outspoken against Iraq war in 2003, and endorsed Democratic
presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004.
Martin and Buckland were the first members of the band, having met
one another during freshers' week. Martin kicked Champion out of the
band but later pleaded with him to return and due to his guilt, Martin (a
self-proclaimed non-drinker and non-smoker) went on a drinking
binge. Martin joked that this music had been inspired by
Jay-Z.
Martin has even likened their attempted transformation to "a revolution
when people break into a palace and get rid of the old institution".
Martin recalled: "He told us, 'Your songs are too long. With their
debut single alone, the emotion-fortified "Shiver", Coldplay proved they
could shift between elated and crushed in a breath as singer Chris Martin
poured out music's oldest chestnut (unconditional yet unrequited love)
with the shakiest of voices and a backdrop of epic guitars that rouse and
tug at the heart strings. And for once, all the clichs ring true,
thanks to Chris Martin genuinely sounding like a man picking over the
bones of his life and soul, coming up with equal parts reasons to be
cheerful and seriously depressed. And for once, all the clichs ring

the two released singles "Shiver" and "Yellow",
Chris Martin's ethereal voice, quivering with emotion, you feel that
the they are part of you. The band produced some hilarious links
where the giggles got the better of them, but as Chris Martin
explains: "that's Colplay for you, always bumming around". Mew,
The Cure and, erm, Pavarotti got spun, as did their own song Yes, much
to singer Chris Martins
disdain.

alleged artistic theft, saying that Coldplay's frontman

performances to promote their record in the US, but are steering clear of
major interviews, following last week's incident on BBC Radio 4 when
Martin walked out of an interview with the arts show Front Row, saying he
did not like "having to talk about things".
Chris Martin is widely considered one of the most influential
musicians of his generation, and was acclaimed as "heir apparent to Bono"
on the band's last tour in 2006. Fatherhood didn't stop Martin from
working, as Coldplay began recording material for a third album within
weeks. Chris Martin is taking his band back on the road for what
promises to be their biggest tour to date to celebrate their hugely
anticipated new album 'Viva la Vida' and hit single 'Violet Hill'.
He continues: "It gets remarkably loud before Martin gets the chance to do
a typically teary piano solo bit at the end. And, in a interesting
twist, frontman Chris Martin married Gwyneth Paltrow and set the tabloid
world aflame. On "Fix You," Martin grapples with imperfection and
missed opportunity: "When you love someone but it goes to waste. The
songs start deceptively with that quiet murmuring falsetto vocal a la
Chris Martin, and then build to unbelievable towering crescendos of
guitars and drums.
In "Swallowed in the Sea" Chris Martin is almost intoxicated by
intonation as he says: "you belong to me. "Low" has some very edgy
moments and Chris Martin expresses more of his instinctive creativity and
energy that he shows on stage. Singer Chris Martin takes his voice
on soaring flights, reaching places only Jeff Buckley previously dared to
go. The truth is that Coldplay has an unmistakable "sound" largely
due to Chris Martin's voice sitting in the middle of a
pool of sounds that are able to soothe the listener while
simultaneously provoking audatious thoughts about things such as fair
trade ("Politik"), life ("Daylight") and the afterlife ("God Put A Smile
Upon Your Face"), along with images of love ("Green Eyes") and breakups
("The Scientist"). The album opens up with a lot of strength: a
guitar riff that breaks the silence of two years; and closes with a
melancholic theme that is close to the point of genius, with Martin at the
piano. Chris Martin has the pretty falsetto to wail his heart out,
but for the most part,.

a delighted grin, disrupts the song's mood of lambent despair by excitedly
yelling "thanks for coming to see us after such a long time.

concerned about.
Despite frontman Chris Martin saying the fourth Coldplay studio
album will not be released until 2008, Amazon. Timbaland is thrilled
the group, fronted by Chris Martin, have chosen him to be their producer
and insists he cannot wait to get into their heads.
And hes also worked with rap legend Jay-Z, providing vocals for a
track off his latest album Kingdom Come; Martin is working with Kanye West
on a track that is destined to be the first single off his next album
later this
year.
Chris Martin has told BBC Radio 6 in the UK that his band Coldplay
are unlikely to make the much anticipated return to the Glastonbury music
festival this
year.
*** The clip also alleges that Chris Martin nicked the tune
when he saw them live at New York's CMJ music festival in
October 2007. In fact, it now transpires that Chris Martin might not
have been at the gig at all. A Coldplay spokesperson said that Chris
Martin was recording at Air Studios in London during 2007's CMJ, and so
couldn't possibly have been in the crowd.
Marked by Martin's falsetto-happy vocals, songs like "Yellow" and
"Shiver" employ stop/start dynamics that allow serene verses to build to a
crescendo, centering on the well-trodden theme of love.
Unfortunately, the effect is ruined when it fades into the following song
and we are startled by Chris Martin's eerie vocals. The first part
of this is fantastic, probably because Chris Martin has ditched his
trademark falsetto and opted for a more manly register.
Right from the start, Coldplace had an unnerving likeness to the real
thing, especially in front man Shane crofts whose look, sound and even on
stage movement perfectly recreated that of Chris Martin.
Coldplay also built a reputation of performing eclectic covers, including
Aqua's "Barbie Girl", Rammstein's "Du hast", and Nelly's "Hot in Herre",
along with more heartfelt renditions of a-ha's "The Living Daylights" and
Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". Coldplay toured for over
a year, from June 2002 to September 2003, visiting five continents
including co-headlining festival dates at Glastonbury Festival, V2003, and
Rock Werchter. Coldplay's third album, X&Y, was released on 6
June 2005 in the UK.
